Why Behind the Thinking #
The [EGO] work is what lets an operator evaluate a hire by output instead of by hovering over the work. Per [The Burnout Myth] source: “burnout” is a hire-side diagnosis for an operator-side failure — it locates the cause inside the hire’s head (couldn’t handle it, lacked resilience, got overwhelmed) and lets the operator skip every question that actually matters, including “Did I do the [EGO] work that would have let me evaluate by output instead of by hovering?” The operator who has not done the [EGO] work cannot let go of control even after making the hire — trust stays hypothetical rather than becoming operational.
