Definition #
The operator’s diagnostic obligation when a cast member isn’t performing to standard. Three buckets, one per cast member at a time, one action per bucket: [No Knowledge] (training issue, operator owns the fix), [No Bandwidth] (time-bound offline life circumstance, operator intervenes in favor of the cast member), and [No Commitment] (cast member knows the standard and has the bandwidth but chooses not to perform, operator terminates).
Family #
Parent diagnostic rule hosting the three-bucket cast-performance triad ([No Knowledge], [No Bandwidth], [No Commitment]); sibling failure mode to [Bad-Read] under [Operator’s Read].
Why Behind the Thinking #
Triggered by a Yugo/Corvirtus email claiming “accountability doesn’t break down because people don’t care” — Jeffrey rejected that characterization; indifference is real. A two-bucket rule (don’t know / don’t care) was proposed, then Jeffrey added a third category for cast members with offline issues affecting performance, where the operator intervenes in favor of the cast member. That third bucket was named [No Bandwidth] for its capacity connotation — finite and recoverable — and all three brackets were renamed to share grammar: No + mass noun ([No Knowledge] / [No Bandwidth] / [No Commitment]). The rule itself was named [The No-Read] — three Nos, one read. Open questions: whether the rule needs an explicit anti-soft-frame entry naming the consulting-firm engagement-survey register as the wrong instrument, or whether that rejection is implicit in the three-bucket discipline; whether [No Bandwidth]’s time-bound discipline should be a defined window or operator-judgment per situation; and whether [The No-Read] pairs against a named soft-frame instrument like [Engagement Survey] as the rejected alternative. The discipline is the no-third-option classification. Mush between buckets is the operator’s avoidance, not a fourth category.
Pairs With #
[No Knowledge] — bucket 1 of the cast-performance triad surfaced by [No-Read]. [No Bandwidth] — bucket 2 of the triad. [No Commitment] — bucket 3 of the triad. [Operator’s Read] — the discipline of which [No-Read] is a failure mode. [Bad-Read] — sibling failure mode; misclassified read rather than skipped read.
