Definition #
The Guest-side experience of receiving a performed hospitality persona instead of a genuinely present person — the room is technically correct, and the experience is empty.
Family #
Canon. Perspective/People fundamental. Diagnostic term inside the manipulation-vs-hospitality argument, paired with [The Workaraunt] as the aggregate cast-side result.
Why Behind the Thinking #
The professional persona the industry trains for is manipulation — the delivery of an engineered emotional response calibrated to produce the feeling of warmth without requiring the cast member to actually be warm. A cast member who performs warmth while operating inside the [Transactional Matrix] is not giving the Guest something real, they are manufacturing the appearance of something real; the smile lands but the care does not exist, and people feel that distinction even when they cannot name it. They leave satisfied and do not come back, and cannot say why. That felt-but-unnamed absence, from the Guest’s side, is The Glitch ([perspective_recompiled_07.08.2026.txt]).
Pairs With #
[The Workaraunt], [Transactional Matrix]
Placement #
Perspective/People fundamental; names the Guest-side symptom of performed rather than expressed hospitality.
