Why Behind the Thinking #
[Informal Instrumentation] was not designed — it formed, from every decision the operator credited to skill and every outcome he attributed to circumstance. It is harder to break than a formal dashboard because a dashboard can be pointed at and questioned; [Informal Instrumentation] cannot, because the operator experiences it as judgment, experience, and pattern recognition rather than as a scorecard. It pre-selects what the evidence is allowed to show before [Bias Prosecution] ever runs, and it is the mechanism behind [Static Decline]: a Road 2 move that cannot clear a Road 1 instrument gets killed in evaluation before it proves itself — the relational bet loses not because the market rejected it but because the instrument never gave it a hearing. Optimism about one’s own bandwidth is named as the most common form of [Informal Instrumentation] running unexamined (in the Leadership Capacity dimension of [Structural Scale]).
